This week GAB are looking at the benefits of gaming. We’ve almost drowned ourselves in discussing race and geek girls - and it’s high time we had a nice break to feel warm and fuzzy.
Lets remind ourselves of not only why we love gaming, but why it can be good for us.
We’ll be posting and linking things like the one above (source: http://visual.ly/gaming-good-you) here, and on our Twitter, Facebook & Website.
And you can share your questions and stories with us by dropping us an Ask.Merry Gaming :)
Aww damn then it has to ruin everything by saying not to game more than 21 hours a week. XD
(I usually I don’t game that much every week though, it’s just when I get intensely into a game and have nothing else to do. I think. It’s not like I measure it, and I usually try and pretend the time counters in games are skewed because I left the game running or something.)
One of my units just uploaded the info on itself. Finally. (I still have no info on two of them though).
So the unit is “Interactive Game Structures”, right?
And I was looking through the topics that we’ll cover, right?
The first one is “History of Games & Play - The purpose of Play”
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? WHAT IS PLAY? WHY IS IT A THING?
After that we have like “A modern history of Play” and stuff. MAYBE PLAY IS A MOVEMENT?
Also another topic is “Cultural Theory - Game Culture…?”, written like that. I JUST.. WHAT? BE SURE OF YOURSELF, DAMNIT!
